We are delighted to present our 06 June 2024 flagship Scottish Paintings & Sculpture auction, featuring a celebratory section dedicated to the Scottish Colourist John Duncan Fergusson in the 150th anniversary year of his birth, including paintings, sculpture and works on paper. Taking place at our Broughton Place saleroom in Edinburgh and live online, our 06 June auction will feature a day and evening session. Further highlights include fine examples by Fergusson?s fellow Colourists S. J. Peploe, G. L. Hunter and F. C. B. Cadell, as well as works by Sir Henry Raeburn, William McTaggart, Robert Brough, Bessie MacNicol, John Maclauchlan Milne, Edward Arthur Walton, Anne Redpath and Joan Eardley.
Islamic & Indian Art
We are delighted to present our inaugural auction of Islamic & Indian Art on 12 June 2024, led by our consultant specialist, Kristina Sanne, one of the foremost Islamic Art specialists in the UK With viewing in the heart of London in our Connaught St gallery and a highlights preview at the Mall Galleries, our live online auction features property from an important private collection of Indian miniatures and Islamic works of Art. Highlights include a monumental Safavid blue and white pottery Dish that once belonged to Arthur Lane (1909-1963) the celebrated scholar and former keeper of Islamic ceramics at the Victoria & Albert Museum; a striking 18th Century illustration to the Satsai of Bihari depicting a pair of lovers in a garden (detail illustrated); and, a portrait of Raja Suraj Mal of Nurpur holding a hawk dated to circa 1770-90, from the Punjab Hills.

Our June Rare Books, Manuscripts, Maps & Photographs auction features a superb presentation copy of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale, inscribed by the author, one of 500 hardback copies of the first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher?s Stone, a complete deluxe set of A. A. Milne?s Winnie-the-Pooh books, signed in each volume by A. A. Milne and E. H.
