Temptations, Day 2 - Fine Art & Antiques

On Day 2 of Winter Auction Weekend we offer an outstanding selection of fine art, including works by Joseph DeCamp, William Sidney Mount, John Frederick Kensett, William Metcalf, Josef Israels, and more; plus, five important early Audubon prints. Leading the marine lots are an early carved and gilded pine figural ship?s figurehead attributed to William Rush, a unique narwhal horn and walrus tusk floor lamp that belonged to Adm Donald MacMillan, and several outstanding ship paintings. Asian antiques are led by a set of 10 early Thai painted panels depicting the life of Buddha and an 18th Century Burmese Buddhist temple carving of a kneeling disciple. This day also includes fine early American and European furniture, Middle Eastern furniture and metalware, early clocks, tea caddies, Delftware, silver and oriental carpets.
