Important Asian Works of Art and Paintings
Jason Weston (1880-1953) was an antique dealer, trading in London between 1919 and 1926. His antique shop was located in Euston Road, Marylebone. During the days of running the antique career, Jason got the family involved in the business, his wife kept the shop whilst he attending sales. Every Friday, he had the weekly sales in Caledonian Market and every Saturday in Blamdford Street. The whole family helped cleaning brass and silver in the Saturday morning and packing carefully delicate oriental porcelains and other Asian art works. Their customers ranged from duke and duchess to local police officers. Jason soon required some reputation in the circle of antique dealers and had a Tin Lizzie when his daughter went to primary school.
We are thrilled that Steve Weston, who is the great grandson of Jason Weston, generously offered and consigned the old family collection to us. His precious family collection and reminiscence provide a fascinating insight into the life and business practice of an early twenty-century London antique dealer.
Welcome to our forthcoming auction, these brilliant and eye-catching artworks are definitely worthy to be purchased and collected.
