Winter Enchantment 2023 - Day 2

On Saturday, Day 2 of our Winter Enchantment auction, we present Old Master paintings plus important works by Everett Lloyd Bryant, James Edward Buttersworth, and Thomas Sully. Also featured is a large carved and painted folk art rooster by Wilhelm Schimmel, a ca. 1700 carved ivory plaque attributed to Dominicus Steinhart, and a rare 1833 double-sided painted Maine inn sign. There are early weathervanes, ship models, and scrimshaw decorated whale?s teeth. Early American furniture includes a variety of formal and country pieces. The European furniture group is led by an 18th c. painted French provincial armoire. Sculptures include an early 19th c. French bronze standing figure of George Washington. Rounding out the day are Asian arts, tall clocks, silver, historic ephemera, and oriental carpets.
