Antique & Modern Jewellery

We start off with an excellent selection of jewels showcasing the flowing lines and nature designs of Art Nouveau. Emblematic of this period is the wonderfully radiant Lot 45, a feminine brooch finished with flowing leaves and an old cut diamond. There are also some fabulous examples of the slightly later Art Deco period. Lot 313, a wonderfully understated onyx and diamond ring of geometric design showcases the classic colour scheme of the era, black and white. An impressive diamond bracelet (Lot 304) is also typical of the period, and works perfectly with a similarly designed double clip brooch in Lot 301, one of our featured cover lots. A strong designer section is featured in the auction, Lot 257 is a beautifully designed multi-row gold necklace, the clasp designed as three gold buttons with looped hooks is reminiscent of a wedding dress. A striking tsavorite garnet and sapphire pendant designed by Garrard (one of the world's oldest jewellers) stands out in Lot 278, while a bouquet of gold and diamonds dazzles in Cleef and Arpels beautifully designed ring (Lot294). We also of course feature a number of classic designer pieces; a 'Panthere' ring by Cartier (lot 260) as well as pieces by Tiffany, Chopard and Bulgari are all guaranteed to add the finishing touches to any look. Finally, a dedicated cufflinks section (Lots 542-559) arrives just in time for late summer weddings and features an impressive selection. Highlights include a pair of yellow sapphire and black diamond cufflinks by Eli Frei in Lot 548 beautifully designed, the pair is sure to add a touch of class to any suit.
