Description
A large Italian hunting knife with fire-gilt lion handle, Venice, circa 1600Slender single-edged blade with retracted double-edged point. The back and upper part of the forte decorated with etched and gilt scrolling leaves. The obverse with a small silver-lined smith mark. Finely chased and fire-gilt bronze handle in the form of a lion sejant-rampant. A small lanyard ring at the snout. Length 48.5 cm.Condition: I - II
