Unusual and early green blown glass bottle or flask painted with enameled scenes of antiquity. The bottle has a threaded pewter mouth and the threaded pewter screw top is still present, fits and fastens perfectly. The painted and fired enamel scenes appear to be Classical Greek in style and depict four different figures with staffs, marble columns, handled vases and urns, as well as trees. Yellow enamel geometric scrolling frame the scenes.

Known as Stiegel-type glass, after the famous Pennsylvania maker, this piece may be American, German or Bohemian in origin, likely 18th century.
