A printer's proof of an unused cover design by Alan Aldridge for the album The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. This album contained live tracks from a circus-themed concert show performed for TV in December 1968. Several guests also appeared at the event, including The Who and one-time supergroup The Dirty Mac, comprised of John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Mitch Mitchell. The album was initially abandoned due to The Rolling Stones being unhappy with their performance and the death of guitarist Brian Jones. However, it was finally released in 1996. Aldridge produced this design of a tiger mirroring the shape of a guitar for a planned 1975 release of the album that never transpired.
