A FINE 19TH CENTURY AESTHETIC MOVEMENT SOLID STERLING SILVER WINE JUG, C. 1879

the 19th Century Victorian Aesthetic movement silver wine jug, the bulbous body beautifully hand engraved with chinoiserie scenes of nobility in traditional silk dress and a merchant carrying goods suspended over the shoulder, surrounded by bamboo trees in landscape and the beck and spout decorated with 'Kamai' decoration and mounted with an elaborate scroll shaped handle and a hinged lid.

Hallmarked English silver (925), London, year 1879 (D), Maker ECB for Richards & Charles Brown.
