This huge kilim in the kelleh format was probably woven in the Mianeh region, as is indicated by the specific light red ground colour of the field. The spaciously conceived design drawn in an archaic style and the fineness of the weave suggest great age. Three large diamonds with a nested serrated diamond at the centre are linked along the central axis by distinctive pendants and flanked by stars at the sides. Small brocaded hooked diamonds lie in the dark blue corners. The wide outer border shows a design of large reciprocal trefoils in two shades of brown.

Slight signs of age and wear, minor repairs. Good overall condition.
