EAGLETON, WILLIAM, An Introduction to Kurdish Rugs and other Weavings. New York 1988, pls. 43 and 57
Coarsely woven and rustic in appearance, this rug presenting a field design of Memling guls and octagons as well as large straight-armed crosses in the white main border is the work of a Kurdish tribal group in Iraq.
Signs of age and wear, low spots in the pile, both ends somewhat reduced, the original selvedges survive.
