BATTLE OF SAILOR'S CREEK, APRIL 7, 1865. 4.5" x 2.75" leather veneer pocket testament has mangled pages and impacted 3-ring minie ball. Surgeon Cornelius Redburn notes on back cover in ink that he removed this book from breast pocket of S.G. Allen, Co. B …..2nd Div. 8th AC. What a wonderful wounded relic of the Civil War, no doubt the soldier can be researched. CONDITION: very good overall, about 1/4 of back cover shot away, pages impacted all the way through the unnumbered pages. PROVENANCE: Martin Lane Historic & Western Americana Lifetime Collection.
