Description
HEIFETZ, JASCHA. (1901-1987). Russian-born, American violinist. AMusQS. (“Jascha Heifetz”). 1p. Oblong Large 8vo. N.p., 1940. Seven measures from the Brahms Violin Concerto with an unidentified AMusQS on the verso.

Heifetz began his musical lessons at age three and was performing outside his native Russia by eleven. On October 27, 1917, having fled the Russian Revolution by way of Serbia, he made his memorable American debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Heifetz is celebrated for his conscientious musical interpretations, as well as his flawless technical and tonal abilities.

Johannes Brahms’ composed his only Violin Concerto in 1879 and dedicated it to his friend, violinist Joseph Joachim. In 1955, Heifetz recorded the piece with Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Darkly penned vertically on an album page. Some scattered staining and wear. Browned. In excellent condition and extremely rare in this form.
