An original film promo standee, promoting Elvis's first feature-length movie Love Me Tender (Twentieth Century Fox, 1956).

This die-cut cardboard standee depicts Elvis in black and white, singing and playing guitar with an inset that reads "Elvis Presley as he appears in his first motion picture Love Me Tender from 20th Century Fox." Although this film was originally titled The Reno Brothers, Elvis' hit single "Love Me Tender" had already sold a million copies, prompting Fox to change the title of the film to Love Me Tender.

The consignor of this standee brought it to Antiques Roadshow in 2011, where it was appraised on camera. At the time of that appraisal only a few examples were know to exist. Although a couple of examples have surfaced since this segment aired, these standees remain quite rare as so few have survived, and this is one of the best condition examples known. Please note: there is a delicate crease around the neck-portion of the standee.
