French Louis XVI Style Mahogany and Walnut Cubed Parquetry with Brass Ormolu Side Table
The clean and classical designs and motifs of the Louis XVI style and inspiration. This French early 20th-century Louis XVI style Mahogany parquetry and ormolu-mounted side table. The cubed parquetry inlaid rectangular top with outset circular corners having an inlaid and crossbanded border surrounded by a very fine brass mould. The frieze repeats the parquetry pattern with a finely beaded mould, fitted with a side drawer. Each corners stand on tapering legs with ormolu collars and terminate on foliate sabots. The style is direct and confers an air of grand, stately elegance.
