US 1872 CAVALRY OFFICER SABER & CASED HIGH GRADE

Description

SWORD BELT. 34" etched San Francisco marked saber, sharkskin grip, raised relief American eagle and 13 stars on top of gilded hilt, hard metal plated scabbard with gilded brass mounts, sword belt is in jappaned tin box, beautiful and complete. CONDITION: sword and belt are fine overall, over half the original gold plate is found on sword, and virtually all original gold on eagle belt plate. Belt is also fine complete with sword hangers. PROVENANCE: from Martin Lane Historic & Western Americana Lifetime Collection. (02-21419/JS). $400-600.
