Made by the Doll & Compagnie. Germany - Early 1910's - 15" Tall. At the beginning of the 20th century, Doll & Cie. distinguished themselves as makers of fine steam-powered toys, particularly ferris wheels and other fairground rides. This is a deluxe example that features two ride-entry platforms with staircases, five flags, a pair of hanging lamps and a striped canopy. But the most obvious deluxe upgrade to this toy ferris wheel is its gorgeous two-seat gondolas with intricate perforated sides. These are "top of the line" details that are absent from less expensive examples.
