Description
Ca. 1720-1730, Massachusetts William and Mary gate leg table with rectangular maple top, demilune drop leaves, single dovetailed pine drawer, exceptional sausage turned legs and stretcher on original button feet, traces of old reddish brown paint. 28”H x 40”L x 14”W leaves down, 47”W leaves up. Provenance: Cain Collection, Lillian Cogan. Cogan offered to buy back the table for the Americana wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the time she was overseeing the exhibition.

Restored drawer front, abrasions appropriate for age.
