Exceptional Japanese Kutani kinrande decorated porcelain jar with cover, Meiji period (1868-1911), modeled after a tea-leaf jar with a simulated brocade cloth extending over the cover and shoulder, the ovoid body well painted in gilt and shades of red with standing figures engaged in elegant pursuits, the base inscribed Dai Nihon Kutani-sei (minor wear). 11.5 inches
