Item Details
Description
Used to identify, and seal the drawstrings of small packets that contained valuable supplies such as arrowheads, salt, and spices, as well as money. Eight examples, each lead, 7/8” greatest dimension. Each with the seal of its owner and string holes. Only nobles and royalty had seals so these specifically identify the property of Crusading knights. The routes to the Holy Land were populated with vendors selling most of the staples needed so coinage for payment would have been a significant part of small bag cargo. Eight seals as shown.
