This example represents the moon exclusively and is probably from a regional cult which emphasizes moon worship. As expert navigators, the constellations signified mystery and power to Vikings. The Moon, personified as Mani, brother to Sol the Sun, is abundantly represented in Norse literature. Lunar pendants were worn on necklaces as well as suspended from belts, other clothing and horse harnesses. This example is professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored, on a modern Sterling silver neck chain and gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
