Description
The period of military resistance to French colonization. Tooled and pierced polished leather, 1 3/4” x 1 ¾” x 5/8”. The front tooled and pierced over the green leather ground. Green sides pierced on Morocco leather backing. Enclosing, presumably, Islamic sacred script and perhaps organic inclusions. Purchased Christies London in 1980. Original twisted leather neck cord. Morocco was under Ottoman rule at the time.
