Description
A Bembe Mask Democratic Republic of Congo, c. 20th century Light wood with pigments in yellow-gold, white, black, and shades of dark red. Of typical form with pair of small horns at top, large raised oval eyes with narrow slits, raised nose and a cylindrical peg mouth. A triangle in white on forehead. Perforated along bottom for attachment. In good condition, two cracks on bottom, tips of horns deficient, minor nicks on edges of the eyes. Mounted to a metal stand.
