Description
Rare 1929 Ars Lenci (Doll Maker) Girl's Dress & Bonnet - bonnet labeled "Ars Lenci / 402 Rue St, Honore - Paris", entire dress and bonnet have colorful felt appliques of stylized flowers, with attached under skirt, round collar and original buttons, its an elegant little outfit, 13" W across bodice, 20" long, bonnet with wide brim and long ties. One tie is loose from dress but still has gathered stitching and an opening so it would be very easy to repair. The company was formed in Turin, Italy in 1918 or 1919. The first product was the dolls, but in 1927 they decided to branch out into fashion items for women and girls made from the same felt as the dolls.
