Description
Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes, Corralitos type, ca. 1060 to 1340 CE. A hand-built and stone-burnished pottery jar of round-bottomed form with a hemispherical lower body and a tapered shoulder leading up to a thick rim. The russet-hued exterior is decorated across the upper body with applied black pigment that forms spiraling linear patterns that terminate in groups of steps. Size: 7.04" Diameter x 6.8" H (17.9 cm x 17.3 cm)

Condition
Minor abrasions and fading to pigment, with light pitting and earthen deposits, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to exterior motifs, and wonderful manganese deposits within interior.
