Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes, Corralitos type, ca. 1060 to 1340 CE. A hand-built and stone-burnished pottery jar of round-bottomed form with a hemispherical lower body and a tapered shoulder leading up to a thick rim. The russet-hued exterior is decorated across the upper body with applied black pigment that forms spiraling linear patterns that terminate in groups of steps.
