Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A beautiful necklace of wearable form that is constructed with dozens of glazed faience beads. The beads exhibit mostly tubular forms with some segmented beads dispersed throughout, and the composition presents with hues of orange, blue, green, brown, and red. Several modern spacer beads as well as the loop and lobster clasp are formed from silver-plated metal. Size (necklace): 27.3" L (69.3 cm); (largest bead): 0.51" L x 0.12" W (1.3 cm x 0.3 cm)
Provenance: private Louisville, Colorado, USA collection from beads acquired over the last 10 years

Wearable as shown and constructed in modern times. Faience beads are ancient; stringing, metal hardware, and spacer discs are modern. Some faience beads with abrasions and fading to glaze pigment, otherwise intact and excellent. Great presentation and remaining coloration.
