Description
A carved wooden semi helmet dance mask with incised linear designs and classic form, a large avian effigy on top, signs of heavy field use and wear. Such masks are danced at ceremonial activities of the Kifwebe society. Luba peoples, DRC/ Congo, central Africa. The mask measures 20 inches tall x 10 inches wide , 40 inches tall when adding in the hanging grass attachment. The mask is in good but well worn condition and will include a display stand.
