A c. 2002 Peavey EVH Wolfgang Special “Star” Prototype electric guitar, no serial number, in black. One of two such guitars made for presentation to Eddie Van Halen by Michael Powers in the Peavey guitar factory. Eddie kept the red one, while the black was acquired from Bill Xavier in 2003 by the former North American Sales manager. Includes Letters of Provenance from the former owner.

As it is a prototype, it has no serial number. A 25.5” scale length maple neck with 22 frets and a 3-on-a-side headstock design. Black position markers on the fretboard and on the side of the neck. The “Star” body shape is finished in black with two humbucker pickups, a Peavey-branded double locking tremolo bridge with D-Tuna installed, one three-way toggle switch and a single volume control.

Includes a black molded Jackson case with a green interior which it was originally paired with as Peavey did not have a suitable case for the exaggerated body shape of the guitar. Also includes a fret protector which is placed between the strings and the neck during shipping to prevent damage. The guitar is missing its arm for the tremolo bridge.
