Antique Signed Chinese Export Silver Mounted Dragon Teapot, hardstone, cloisonne enamel, buddha finial, 4.8 x 5 x 2.8 inches overall, circa late Qing to early Republic. Silver metal. We are uncertain if this is solid silver, silvered or a combination of solid silver and paktong nickel alloy. Unknown if the hardstone sides are jade. Buddha finial is brass or bronze. Underside has 4 character mark plus a maker hallmark we associate with Chinese export silver but uncertain. Lid has enamel loss at an edge bend. Top flange has a larger corresponding bend but without enamel loss. Quite a lot of solder on metal fittings, possibly original. Some silver metal areas appear tarnished leading us to conclude those areas may be solid silver in the 0.800 to 0.950 purity range such as 0.925 sterling silver but other areas such as the handle have finish wear rather than tarnish and may not be silver.
