Beatrice Heide Thomas (American, 1913-2002), Moby Dick, Oil On Canvas. Signed "BHT 66." Beatrice Heide Thomas was the daughter of Henry Heide, founder of the Heide Candy Company. She attended The Art Student's League in New York City, and studied art in Paris in the 1930's, where she befriended author Henry Miller. In the 1950's, she was involved in an artist's colony in Truro, on Cape Cod. Her work reflects the attention to innovation she maintained in surrounding herself with a community of fellow artists. Framed 35.5H x 30.25W x 1.75D in. Sight 29.5H x 24.5W in. All Measurements are Approximate.
