What is interesting is the original envelope that the note was sent in: 230 x 100 mm.brown heavy stock paper (made by Hill & Co. Sunderland) that has a cancelled 1/2 Penny stamp dated Feb.6, 1905, addressed to a William Briggs (1862-1900) Moorlands Local, the owner of Hylton Castle, Sunderland in a precursor banknote sleeve printed in red ink: Moorlands Sunderland and written by hand "Wear Bank Note", a Pound symbol 1.-0-0. Should be viewed.
