Churches Island, circa 1960, carved and painted wood, incised AT on the bottom.
Length 17.5 in.
Hambone was one of the most respected of all Currituck carvers, producing large birds that rode the Currituck chop well. He hated to paint, and decoys actually decorated in his hand are in highly sought by collectors.
