Description
A Pennsylvania Tiger Maple Tall Case Clock, Jacob Eyer, Pottsville, Second Quarter 19th Century.
The white-painted arched dial with rolling moon phase, having Arabic numerals, with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, inscribed, "Jacob Eyer / Pottsville", within floral painted spandrels, the twin train eight-day movement striking on a bell.
The broken arch hood with swans neck ending in scrolled terminals, the dial door flanked by turned columns, the waist with tombstone shaped door, flanked by chamfered corners with lambs tongue terminals, above a cove waist molded conforming sunken panel box base, raised on turned feet.
Dimensions: Height 94 1/2in; width 20in; depth 10 3/4in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition
Retaining an old, likely untouched surface. The dial with wear, losses and refreshing to the numerals. We cannot guarantee the completeness and functionality of the clock's movement.
