Description
Elvis Presley's Personally Owned Guild D-40 Sunburst Acoustic Guitar and Case Gifted to His Cousin W/(3) LOAs - This Guild D-40 sunburst acoustic guitar and accompanying hard case were personally owned by Elvis Presley. Elvis eventually gave the guitar to his cousin Bill Mann, the son of Lillian, Gladys Presley's sister. Mann was Elvis' cousin and also styled his hair in Hollywood and Graceland. Elvis surprised Bill by giving him this guitar while at Graceland to style his hair. The lot includes a certificate of authenticity from the Elvis Presley Museum signed by Jimmy Velvet, and a letter of authenticity from Bill Mann. The guitar was later sold by Bill Mann to Thomas B. Morgan of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, and also includes a letter from Morgan on Shelby County Sheriff's Department letterhead. Serial number: 131771. Note: The bridge has a crack by the saddle. This should be a very playable guitar after proper setup and adjustment.
