Treasures from their New York showroom can be found in private collections around the world, as well as in such distinguished institutions as the J. Paul Getty Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Louvre and the Palace of Versailles Porcelain from The Dalva Brothers Collection: June 6 The porcelain offerings in The Dalva Brothers Collection reflect the depth of their enthusiasm and expertise for European Decorative Art. Included is a refined selection of French Rococo and Neoclassical porcelain from the manufactories of Vincennes/Sèvres, Saint Cloud and Mennecy. Finely painted cups and saucer, cabinet plates, and floral service wares compliment biscuit figures and flower-encrusted pot-pourri vases. Parisian biscuit porcelain firms such as Locret and the comte d'Artois Rue du Faubourg Saint Denis enhance the figure groups and a large pair of gold-ground two-handled vases from Darte Frères add prominence to the sale. This complement is augmented by German examples from Meissen including Kakiemon inspired wares, figure groups such as the Drunken Silenus, a regal stag, a swash buckling sword and other fine ornaments.

This landmark auction will offer over 450 lots of memorabilia, furnishings, antique puzzles and more from Mr. Sondheim’s Manhattan townhouse and his country home in Roxbury, Connecticut. The lyricist of West Side Story and Gypsy and composer/lyricist of Company, Follies, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George and Into the Woods, among many others, Stephen Sondheim was the twentieth century's most brilliant and influential contributor to American musical theater. Fans of Mr. Sondheim’s musicals and collectors alike will delight at the memorabilia within the auction, from his gold record for West Side Story to his custom-embroidered asylum coat from Sweeney Todd. In addition to professional accomplishments, Mr. Sondheim was a sophisticated collector. Accuracy of Description off
Product was not Schlumberger as described. These items were still very desired but not accurate. I emailed three times for verification and did not get a response. Otherwise happy with transaction and shipping. The merchandise condition was as described. Luxury and designer pieces should be double checked before listing.
