Random Treasures Auctions was originally founded in New Jersey in 1991 by the top experts in their fields, Donald J Flanagan and Mario Carrandi with a combined experience of 100 years in the areas sports (all fields), pop culture, Magic ( all fields), gambling and fine original vintage posters with an emphasis on Circus, Magic and Wild West. Our last auction conducted right before Don's unexpected demise, fetched over $1MM and consisted only of Magic paraphernalia, establishing several worldwide records from signed Houdini books to a rare Milk Can Escape poster from his estate that was bought for close to $75,000. We both met in the 1970's, while serving as consultants for Christies in NYC in our areas of expertise. Donald conducted the most successful sale of Mohamed Ali personal artifacts on record. Mario operated the Carrandi Gallery in New York City for several years in the heart of Chelsea, catering to decorators , collectors and private buyers,and a million dollar catalog mail order business in the area of Magic. We proudly can state that we are the only qualified and certified appraisers for Magic and allied arts having conducted several appraisals for top collectors worldwide.Mario holds an MBA and has been a 25 year plus member of the AAA (American Association of Appraisers) for over 20 years.
