poor communication and inaccurate listing

Authenticity: The two items I won are authentic and were reasonably priced. These are two items I will cherish for my personal collection. Condition: In G/VG shape. Condition could have been noted with a grading system. The auction house responded quickly to enquiries prior to the auction. If you have questions about the items, ask Shipping: Shipping and handling options were easy to negotiate with discussion in advance of the auction. The auction house team were great at offering a solution and shipping was done expeditiously. The items themselves were very well packed and wrapped in plastic inside the the package. Post auction communication: Discussion about the items was great before the sale and communication regarding shipping was exemplary. That said, I asked about items that were passed and told they would look into them for me, but I've been left hanging. A passed lot that I asked about on auction day was eventually given back to the consignor without any communication to me until well after the items were removed. Overall experience. I would absolutely bid or purchase again from Mid-Hudson Auction Galleries, and feel comfortable recommending them to others.

Please verify what they are selling is what the actual item is. Listing said one thing but item was not that. Upon discussion with owner, she offered to relist item after I paid full price, minus listing fee, so as not to degrade my status of great buyer, with the hope that the item will resell at a better price. I decided to pay the full price, plus buyers fee, so as to maintain my status and not to do business with this company anymore. Buyer beware.

Very poor communication post auction. Took weeks to get my items sent. A never ending trail of excuses used both by the auction house and the forced shipper at the local ups store. Poorly packaged and overpriced. Worst experience in ten years of online auctions!

The Bidder/Buyer needs to determine the shipping costs before you bid! Shippers can charge you more than you pay for the items you purchase.

I bid on two items and was successful with one. The item was as described in the online catalogue and was accurately depicted in the photograph. Paying for and picking up the item took only a few minutes.

All was good except for the shipping. There should be more than one option. The estimate was high, but then they tried to add on costs. I've never had that happen before. A quote should be honored. Auction house needs to get some competition with the shipping.

I am a fountain pen dealer and a repairer. I buy most of my pens at auctions and have a limit what I can pay for them. For example I bought pen pencil set at auction in USA. They shipped it to my Canadian home by U. P. S. who charged me $71.00 for the delivery on a pen set that cost $25.00. A lot of business focus on profits only, not customer satisfaction. Overall a good auction company. It would probably be great for those who can do local pick ups. Shipping costs were excessive. Two boxes were taped together and the trains were placed in them without bubble wrap. About $2.00 in packing peanuts were put in and I was charged $68 for this. They let me use my own shipping label, or I would have paid at least $130 more. My label cost $40.00. The shipping company was nice to talk with, but the charges were way too much for the service rendered.
