Moore-Grobman Coll. of Works by Eva Zeisel

This sale of works by renowned designer Eva Zeisel (1906-2011) is drawn from the collection of Pat Moore and Dr. Gene Grobman (1929-2016). It includes over 400 lots of items made between 1929 and 2013 and features numerous early works, prototypes, test pieces, and important rarities. Zeisel was a prolific designer, historian, and educator who continued to work beyond her 100th birthday. During her eighty-five year career, she created works that came to exemplify organic abstraction in modern design. Moore and Grobman formed the collection over 25 years, traveling across Europe and America researching Zeisel?s designs and slowly amassing the most comprehensive collection of works by Zeisel outside the artist's personal archive. Highlights include a large selection of works from the Schramberg Majolika Factory, Carstens, Riverside Ceramics, Cloverware, Monmouth Pottery, Norleans, Hallcraft, Hollydale, Hyalyn Porcelain, Zsolnay, Heisey, Salisbury Artisans, Kispester Granit, Eva Zeisel Originals, KleinReid, Nambe, and the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory as well as ephemera related to the production and sale of the Zeisel designs Moore and Grobman collected as part of their study of the artist?s career.
