Engravings, Natural History, Art Glass, Pntgs

This catalog features a variety of collectibles, antiques, ephemera and artwork. Of particular interest is a collection of original paintings and art glass pieces direct from the estate of prolific artist, Jack Graziano. A wide range of other estate items include high-quality telescopes, cameras, stamps, coins, currency and much more. A number of lots include estate ephemera and antique illustrations. Dozens of examples of original, hand-colored engravings date back to the 1600's principally include content relating to natural history such as botanical plates, ornithological specimens and other zoological topics. Groups of estate ephemera contain antique photographs, correspondence, a c1650 antique vellum manuscript leaf, postcards, early newspapers, a Franklin D. Roosevelt signature, signed sports & Hollywood photographs, and a wide variety of other unique and rare bits. Jack Graziano created an 88-acre artist's homestead in Upstate New York where he built his studio and home, and worked for many years. He identified his art as inspired by nature and worked in a variety of media including art glass, painting, drawing, woodworking and welded/forged steel sculpture. Graziano was influenced by Andrew Wyeth, as is evident in many of his paintings, and studied at the Pratt Institute in Manhattan. Further lots in the catalog span a wide array of antiques, collectibles and estate items. Among the notable examples are like-new high-quality telescopes and digital cameras, direct from a fine local estate. A group of original, antique cuckoo clocks include works by names such as Schwer, Schmeckenbecher and Thorens. Another impressive estate find is a fully functional professional printing press that was used by an accomplished engraver. Other offerings include a fine dressage saddle, an antique tole-decorated safe, toys, circus-related collectibles, coins, currency, stamps and beyond.
