Chinese porcelain, carving, painting & more

Day 1 features important Chinese porcelain from the late Qing Dynasty and Republic periods as well as a collection of monochromes. The sculpture section shows a number of mostly Ming Dynasty carvings. Cloisonné, enamel on copper and bronze wares are also very well represented, whlie jade, coral, soapstone and other carvings can't be absent in an Asian sale. The presence of an entire library of reference works is not a common sight! Neither are the selected paintings, includinig an important Cultural Revolution era work. The last section of the first day is dedicated to Chinese textiles, Chinese silver and Japanese works of art.
