Cleveland Fine & Decorative Art: Live Auction

Cowan's Auctions' Cleveland Summer Fine and Decorative Art Auction brings several great collections to the block including everything from fine art, silver, and antique furniture to American art pottery, antique maps and regional Cleveland modern art. Featured in this sale are two collections from Northeast Ohio: Property from the Estate of Lewis W. Walker, Jr., Hudson, OH After serving in the Navy for 30 years, Lewis W. Walker, Jr. spent his retirement studying and collecting antiques. He was bolstered by the knowledge of both his first wife, Angela Mary Holmes and his second wife, Eleanor Randall Hoover, both antique dealers themselves. The Lewis Walker Collection represented in this catalog includes a wonderful selection of antique maps, fine art and Americana. More items from the Lewis W. Walker, Jr. Collection will be offered in upcoming auctions: August 8 - Books and Manuscripts; October 11 - American Indian and Western Art; October 30 - Historic Firearms and Militaria. Property from the Collection of Ellie Hoover Walker, Hudson, OH The Eleanor Hoover Walker Collection showcases Eleanor's love of Americana, particularly the Pennsylvania German culture. Ellie was a well-known fixture in the Midwest and Northeast antique market taking part in many antique shows during her over 50 years of collecting. Highlights from the collection include Lot 125 - Connecticut Highboy in Cherry and Lot 197 - Pennsylvania German Fraktur, Dated 1815.
