LIGHTS - Select lamps and lighting

The auction contains ca. 250 candlesticks, table, wall and ceiling lamps as well as 'light objects' and ranges from a classicistic brass taper-holder of ca. 1810 to a prototype for a wall or table lamp constructed of finely woven porcelain strands and made in 2008 by the young Viennese designer Sibel Sermet. Among the auction's highlights is a patinated brass ceiling lamp with two symmetrically placed dragonflies and a glass shade by Lötz, designed by a member of the Koloman Moser class at the Vienna School of Applied Art around 1901. The wide and highly attractive selection of lighting from the Twenties and Thirties includes decorative works by Charles Schneider, Degué, Lalique, Muller Frères, Desny, Schwintzer & Gräff, Berlin, Hagenauer, Wien, and Jean Perzel. Danish avant-garde design of the Fifties is well represented by Poul Henningsen's 'PH Artichoke' ceiling lamp constructed of thin copper plates, and produced from ca. 1957 onwards by Louis Poulsen & Co., Copenhagen. Henry van de Velde, Bruno Paul, Peter Behrens, Louis Majorelle, Raoul Larche, Maurice Dufrène, Georges de Feure, Emile Gallé, Daum Frères, Edward Colonna, Wiener Werkstätte, Friedrich Goldscheider, Venini, Memphis, Ettore Sottsass, Franz West, Gio Ponti, Fontana Arte, Fornasetti, Barovier & Toso, Tapio Wirkkala, Lino Tagliapietra, Gilbert Portanier and Gino Sarfatti - these are just some of the first-class names that are represented in the Special Auction 'LIGHTS'.
