On Monday, February 28 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Swann Auction Galleries will conduct sale 2034, Printed & Manuscript African-Americana, including Paintings, Graphics and Folk Art. The tenth annual sale, held during Black History Month as always, is filled with extraordinary items. There are highly desirable works of art by leading African-American artists; large selection of items related to slavery and abolition; significant autograph material; and other memorabilia. ======================================= On Thursday, March 3 at 10:30 a.m. (Eastern Time) Swann Galleries will conduct sale 2035, American Prints from the Keith Sheridan Collection, which span the first half of the 20th century. Sheridan, an accomplished graphic designer and passionate art collector and dealer, amassed a fine collection of regionalist, social realist, urban/industrial, African-American and modernist images, with a diverse range of works from the WPA era. ======================================= On Thursday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) Swann Galleries will conduct sale 2036, 19th & 20th Century Prints & Drawings. This large sale includes a section of Important Prints and Drawings from the James Heald Collection, with some 150 works by such artists as Bellows, Benton, Dehner, Kent, Lazzell, Margolies, Matulka, Riggs, Spruance, Wengenroth and Zorach. Other highlights include drawings by Forain, Gleizes, Marcoussis and Picasso. Also of note is a group of early drawings by Charles White.
