Estate Sale: Fernand Leon Cayard
Estate sale pieces provided by the son of the late Fernand Leon Cayard.

"Fernand Léon Cayard became the Economic and Political advisor to than President Francois Tombalbaye of the country Chad, Africa who gained their independence from France.
In late 1959, the new African government needed Black people who spoke French - English - Spanish in order to be part of the new world, especially at the United Nations.
In 1960, President Tombalbaye recruited my father who was living in Exile in Santiago Chili to come to Chad with the ranks of Ambassador and special adviser to him.
During that time, my father had to travel extensively throughout the world in order make sure that Chad was being seen as a favorable country in the western world.
My father traveled the world, and many times to the USA. He was presented with various gifts. He received and purchased many art pieces. His estate is selling some of these arts pieces.
Among them, this painting by American artist F. Kline that he met in an official visit to the USA."
