Quinn's Fine & Rare Books, Maps & Prints

Quinn?s Auction Galleries is pleased to present an auction of rare books, antique maps, and Americana. The sale features over 300 rare and signed books, maps, and autographs. These include items by Thomas Wolfe, Ernest Hemingway, U.S. Grant, and Hondius. We also feature an unpublished illustration for "The Hound of the Baskervilles" Books include early printings, fine bindings, travel & exploration, and books signed by Aldous Huxley and Robert Kennedy. The auction also contains a selection of illustrated books including an extra illustrated "Satan in Goray," "Ink and Blood" by Arthur Syzk, and "Leaves of Grass," illustrated and signed by Rockwell Kent. Autograph highlights include Presidential appointments and grants signed by Quincy Adams, Ulysses S. Grant, James Madison, and others. Quinn?s is also pleased to present the collection of Eric Robinson, scholar, editor and expert on the poetry of John Clare, which includes a first edition of Clare's Rural Life. We also present the library of Philip and Margo Jacksich which includes a copy of Viala & Vermorel's Ampelographie. Illustrated items include an unpublished Frederick Dore Steele sketch for "The Hound of the Baskervilles", entitled "The Slavering Hound". We have, in addition, sketches executed by Allyn Cox for the Masonic Temple and U.S. Capitol.
