Art of the American West

Moran?s is proud to present Art of the American West on May 24th, 2022. This auction will feature numerous collections, including a wide array of late 19th and 20th century Navajo and Rio Grande textiles, masterful Puebloan pottery from Margaret Tafoya, Nancy Youngblood, among others. Fine Art selections from Edward Borein, Al Bahe, Veloy Vigil, Ben Wright, Dan Namingha, Edgar Paxton tell timeless stories alongside their sculptural counterparts, Carl Kauba, Charles Russell, Bud Boller and Doug Hyde. Select contemporary artists such as Richard Zane Smith add spontaneity and color as does quality offerings of Plateau, Iroquois and Lakota beadwork. Vintage stereopticon images, large format Percy Marble images and the more contemporary Manuel Bravo photographs add a historical, yet personal glimpse of 19th century life on the frontier and plains - otherwise represented by objects alone.
