Historic Lamps & Lighting

Our March 26th sale offers the lifetime collections of the Historical Lighting Society of Canada members, Valerie Lister, Ottawa, David Broughton, Port Hope and Keith Dill, Niagara on the Lake. David Broughton's collection concentrated on patent dated burners and interesting chimneys from 1850's to1890's. Keith Dill's collections features lamps from the Northeastern United States from 1820 to 1880, including colourful Marbrie Loops, world class Overlays, and Latticinio lamps. Valerie Lister, the author of the book "Trading Places", which focused on Mechanical lamps, collected lamps from different countries and from different eras, from the early 19thC up until the first part of the 20thC. Her collection features several different types of mechanical lamps from Canada, the United States and Europe. Since there are many rare and interesting lamps, chimneys and burners in this sale, including some from the Catherine Thuro collection, we believe that it is best sale of lighting offered in Canada.
