Woven Gardens | The Jim Dixon Collection
Woven Gardens | The Jim Dixon Collection | Bonhams Skinner
We are delighted to offer another live auction of rugs from the Jim Dixon collection. Dixon was the most sophisticated of collectors. He elevated the artistry and historical significance of his rugs above the traditional considerations of size and condition. His resulting collection includes a vast number of rare, colourful, and aesthetically important rugs and carpets. Dixon explored the nooks and crannies of the rug world, and many of his pieces are truly unique examples of their types. The current Jim Dixon: Woven Gardens auction offers beautiful silk rugs from East Turkestan, many rare and early examples from the Caucasus, and extraordinary and early fragments ranging from Turkey to as far away as China. Many pieces date as far back as the 17th century, and everything has significant age. You won't want to miss this sale of spectacular woven art from the Jim Dixon collection. The auction will be held live in our Boston gallery on April 27th. Previews will be held on April 24th, 25th, and 26th in Boston.
