Robert & Nancy Nooter Estate Fine African Art

Unless otherwise stated, all items offered in this auction are from the Washington DC estate of Robert and Nancy Nooter. Known as collectors first, the Nooters also wrote books, curated museum collections, and acted as consultants to institutions and galleries around the world. The rare African and tribal objects offered in this auction date from distant prehistory, up to the present time. In some cases we are able to offer original receipts; some items will have auction catalog references. And for every item: we were able to have Robert and Nancy Nooter's family create and sign a letter stating items in this sale are guaranteed to be from the Nooter estate. This also directly applies to the other Nooter sale we are presently conducting. For a few other items we are able to provide a printed copy of the original auction catalog entry. This is an important collection of tribal artifacts, with world-famous collector provenance.
