Fine Art, Antique & Midcentury Auction

Fine Art features American, Latin, and European paintings, prints, and bronzes. American artists include: Calder, Floch, Motherwell, Katz, Duncan, Peterson, Kuhn, Koeniger, Lewis, Perkins, Hamilton, Aronson, Baskin, Albert Smith, Reusswig, Merkin, etc. Latin artists include Antunez, Barreda, Merida, and Anguiano. European artists include: Tobiasse, Chagall, Miro, Picasso, Le Corbusier, Shayer, Morland, Rondel, Lam, Carpeaux. A collection of 19th century portraits rounds out the fine art section. Decorative arts are highlighted by numerous lots of Tiffany Studios standing lamps, desk lamps, and desk sets. Several lots of art glass include works by William Morris, Dali Chihuly, Kyohei Fujita, and Bertil Vallien. Porcelain lots feature a beautiful large urn by George White for Royal Doulton as well as Meissen. Several carpets, advertising art, clocks, and other miscellaneous items are also included. 2 pieces by Jorge Zalszupin as well as pieces by McCobb Knoll, Mies Van der Rhoe, Dietrich, and Wegner round off the midcentury lots. Period antique highlights include a 17th C. walnut cabinet, 17th/18th C. 2 drawer table, American Empire, a Henry Higginbotham case clock, and French open front bookcases. As usual Clarke will include many lots of silver including English sterling flatware, Jensen, Wallace, an ornate chased bucket, Towle and Christofle. Ending the sale are numerous lots of Asian antiques including a large collection of carved ivories.
